BAFTA award-winning makers of Lumino City announce Ink

Pinball mixed with paint in a mobile puzzle game

State of Play, the British team behind Lume and the BAFTA award-winning Lumino City have announced their next game, a mobile title called Ink.

In the announcement provided to Polygon, State of Play said that Ink will combine both pinball and painting. Co-founder Katherine Bidwell said, “Pinball is a great game at its core. With Ink we wanted to extract that essence, create a game for everyone and make it a beautiful experience.”

State of Play is known for its hand-made dioramas, painstakingly filmed and photographed to turn real physical objects into wondrous puzzle games. Ink takes the team’s artistic flair in a completely different direction.

“As you play INK the ball smashes along the walls,” the press release said, “blocks of color burst like beautiful fireworks across the surface, building up in vivid layers and recording a visual history of your gameplay as you perfect your score.”

More information, including a release date, will be available soon.
